Donald Lee Morris, 80, of Troy passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel in Troy, officiated by Rev. Toney Parsons, Rev. Harold Pope, and Rev. Carl Burrow.

Born September 23, 1943, in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Zelma Leach Morris. Donald had served as a volunteer fireman for Uwharrie Fire Department. He was a collector of sports cards, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf. Donald loved his family, and he loved watching western movies. Donald had worked in textiles for more than 40 years and served his country in the US Army Reserves.

 He is survived by his wife, Ileine Brock Morris, of the home; nieces, Gloria Epps of Troy and Vivian McInnis (Mickey) of Jackson Springs; known as “Papa Donald” by, Darren Lefler (Gia) of Jackson Springs, Michaela Bryant (Josiah) of Carthage, Maddie and Michael McInnis, both of Jackson Springs. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lynnette Martin; sister, Lola “Jean” Harris; and nephew, Dexter Harris.
